Daniel Cinelli – Bio
Daniel Cinelli is an award winning Montreal-based Producer/Mixer/Engineer with over 20 years experience.
Daniel has collaborated and co-produced albums featuring Quincy Jones, Phil Ramone,
Tony Maserati, Rob Kleiner, Phil Tan, Harmony Samuels, Luc Plamondon, and Elliot Scheiner.
He is a two-time winner of the Grand Prize at Canada’s National Songwriting Competition as
songwriter and producer.
Daniel has worked with many Canadian and International artists including Prince, Arcade Fire, Lauryn Hill,
MIKA, Colbie Callait, Elton John, Wyclef Jean, The Fugees, David Usher, Peter Murphy, Nikki Yanofsky,
Karl Wolf, Bruno Pelletier, Sylvain Cossette, Corneille, Roch Voisine, Eric Lapointe, Florence K., Shy’m,
K’maro and The Cirque du Soleil, among many others.
Daniel was awarded a Juno Award in 2007 for his mixing of The McDade’s album – Bloom
(Roots and Traditional Album of the Year (Group).
He was also twice nominated for ADISQ Awards for Sound Recording and Mix of the Year.
In addition, Daniel has contributed his Producing and engineering skills to several popular
films and television shows such as Cheaper by the Dozen (20th Century Fox), The Prince of Persia
(Walt Disney Pictures), Dawson’s Creek, Party of Five, Summerland, Felicty and She Drives Me Crazy.
In 2001, Daniel opened Planet Studios, an award winning, world-class recording studio located in
the heart of Montreal. Some of the artists that have recorded at Planet Studios include Rihanna,
Simple Plan, Win Butler, MIKA, Sam Roberts, David Usher and Youssou N’Dour as well as top
engineers such as Paul Northfield (Rush, Dream Theater),
Tony Platt (AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Bob Marley), Ross Hogarth (The Doobie Brothers, Jewel)
and Godfrey Diamond (Lou Reed, Luther Vandross).
